About
Built for pilots who want clarity before a quote form.
Pilot Life Insurance Calculator is an independent educational site focused on aviation-specific life insurance questions. The first version covers US pilot term life insurance estimates and supporting guides for commercial, private, instructor, charter, military, and student pilot profiles.
The site does not sell insurance, collect lead forms, or represent a carrier. The goal is to help pilots walk into conversations with licensed providers knowing which underwriting details matter.
Coverage guidance on this site is informational only and should not be treated as personal financial, legal, or insurance advice.
Life insurance is a high-trust topic, so the content is written to stay narrow: pilot-specific underwriting patterns, exclusions, and estimate methodology rather than broad promises about who offers the "cheapest" policy.
Editorial and source standards
We separate facts about aviation from estimates about insurance pricing. FAA links are used to explain pilot certificates, ratings, and medical terminology; NAIC resources are used for general consumer guidance. Neither government source sets life insurance rates. The calculator's multipliers are our transparent planning model, documented on the methodology page, and are intentionally shown as ranges rather than presented as carrier quotes.
Content is reviewed when the model or source assumptions change. We do not claim endorsements, preferred-carrier relationships, or access to underwriting manuals. If a guide discusses “best companies,” read it as a framework for comparing aviation appetite, exclusions, and policy fit—not as a ranking or recommendation.
What we will not do
- Ask for medical or aviation details through a lead form.
- Promise approval, a specific premium, or coverage of a particular flight activity.
- Replace the policy contract or advice from a licensed insurance professional.
